Make You Scream
(Dixon & Trikk “Tri/xon” Rework)
by VTSS
— Released 3rd August 2023
With the release of ‘Circulus Vitiosus’ EP last summer, Martyna Maja took a sharp turn as VTSS towards vocal-led, mutant pop productions. While her prominence in today’s DJ landscape has put her in an influential position, she’s taken riskier decisions with the music she releases to deliver something unforgettable, original and true to the person behind the persona. While her prominence in today’s DJ landscape has put her in an influential position, she’s taken riskier decisions with the music she releases to deliver something unforgettable, original and true to the person behind the persona. Continuing that direction with characteristic purpose and flair, now VTSS presents a sizeable remix project which zooms in on both sides of her musical make-up.
The premise with ‘Circulus Vitiosus Remixes’ is simple, to pair vocal-led reinterpretations with club-focused versions across a series of drops. Depending on which side of VTSS has ensnared you thus far there’s something to latch on to, and Maja has taken full control over who gets to mess around with her music. The third drop arrives today with two fresh reworks, first up from Dixon & Trikk “Tri/xon” who provide their own take on “Make You Scream” and then Kai Whiston who warps “Notoriously Fast [feat. Deto Black, Izzy Spears]” for his remix.
They follow on from recently released first drop landed with a heavy blow from the get-go with Isabella Lovestory’s re-voiced twist on “Make You Scream” facing off with Tim Reaper’s blistering jungle techno annihilation of “Body Mind Hell”. The high-energy second drop followed shortly with two more twisted remixes - an ethereal rework of "Make You Scream” from yunè pinku and a scorching take on “Incredibly Annoying” from Safety Trance - the Venezuelan born Boys Noize collaborator who has been opening for Aphex Twin this summer as well as collaborating with Arca.
