Her hugely successful ‘How can I’ EP was released on Ninja Tune in 2020 to a phenomenal response from fans and critics alike, with support from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Jezebel, FADER, DAZED, i-D, E!, Resident Advisor, Exclaim!, Hypebeast and many more. She was additionally featured in numerous ‘Best Of 2020’ lists from the likes of Billboard, The Guardian, NYLON and others, included in the NME 100 list of ‘Essential emerging artists for 2021’& V Mag's 'Generation V’ series, and highlighted by British GQ and Stereogum as ‘One to Watch’. The EP’s lead single, ‘Like this’—hailed by Mixmag as one of the “Best Tracks of 2020” and featured on the FIFA 2021 soundtrack—was supported across BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music (where it was playlisted for multiple weeks) with plays from Annie Mac, Clara Amfo, Lauren Laverne, Phil Taggart and many more. In the US the track was #1 of ‘Top Electronic’ in the NACC Charts (North American College and Community Radio), and in the ‘Top 200’ overall, with further support from KEXP, KCRW, SiriusXMU and more.

South Korean-born and now LA-based—having also spent time living in both Melbourne and London—박혜진 Park Hye Jin quickly gained a reputation for dreamlike minimal house, techno and electronic productions, with her flawless DJ sets winning her fans across the globe and spawning a burgeoning touring career.

Having begun to experiment with her own rapping and singing around 2015, she began learning to DJ in 2017 before eventually moving into making her own productions in 2018. At the same time she approached some of the local underground electronic clubs in Seoul’s Itaewon district looking for warm up slots, but found her lack of connections kept those doors firmly shut. Unperturbed she returned to the clubs every week offering to clear up at the end of the night or help in any other way she could, and in the process striking up close friendships with the staff at one club in particular, Pistil, where her persistence was eventually rewarded with a DJ slot, and where she would remain a resident over the next 18 months honing her skills behind the decks.

She released her debut EP—“IF U WANT IT”—in 2018. It was soon picked up by Pitchfork who described her songs as "an ocean of subtle feelings and delicately complex club music”, with further support from the likes of Bandcamp, i-D, Hypebeast, Boiler Room, FADER, Dazed and many more. Following a stint Melbourne, she soon found herself heading over to Europe and North America for a string of shows including stops at festivals such as Dour, Melt, Lost Village and Way out West, 88RISING's ‘HEAD IN THE CLOUDS’ as well as gigs at Berlin’s infamous Panorama Bar, DC-10 in Ibiza, and a personal invite to play alongside Jamie xx in London.

On her debut album—‘Before I Die’—Hye Jin continues to expand her sonic palette, drawing on a range of influences that take in electronic, rap/hip-hop and downtempo sensibilities to present the most complete vision yet of her sound. Set for release on 10th September on Ninja Tune, she is also heading out on a run of North American tour dates later this year which includes a co-headline show at Elsewhere with Shlohmo, III Points Festival in Miami and more.
